Kwikset believes in improving and innovating their technology. Their products are state of the art and made with security in mind. One of Kwikset’s newest and most exciting products, the Kevo, recently received an update to the lock’s app and firmware. Version 1.2 is the new update and some of its features include auto-calibration using Inside/Outside positioning technology and all-day eKeys.
Before the latest update, the Kevo had to be manually calibrated to detect whether a user was inside or outside. With version 1.2 the calibration is done automatically using the innovative Inside/Outside technology. This makes the Kevo even more intuitive, providing the highest level of security available.
Kwikset notes that all new Kevo devices (Key fobs included) will be updated to version 1.2. If you already own a Kevo, they highly recommend updating your app and lock software to version 1.2 to take full advantage of the new features.
The new all-day eKeys give you even more control over how you distribute your eKeys. With version 1.2 you can give time specific eKeys and send scheduled 24-hour access to your home. For example, if you only want your house cleaning to have access on the weekend, you can now schedule that via the app.
The Kevo currently works with smartphones that support Bluetooth Smart Ready/Bluetooth 4.0 hardware and have access to the Kevo mobile app. At the moment only iPhones and other IOS devices are supported, but a mobile app is currently in development for Android devices. Blackberry and Windows devices aren’t supported at the moment.
